Flatbed Red
Understory watercolours are crafted in small batches from natural, earth based pigments. Each pan of paint is carefully mulled by hand with a simple formula tailored to each pigment. Our pans are poured and dried in layers to minimize bubbles and cracks and to make sure they’re as full as possible. All orders are shipped in a palm sized metal tin for easy storage and each pan is fitted with a small magnet to hold it in place.
Flatbed Red - A deep orange leaning red ocher. This tone reminds me of the inside of a blood orange, or a red salmon berry. One of two pigments collected from a cut-bank near Flatbed Falls.
