Make Your Own Natural Watercolours - A Hands On Workshop
If you’ve ever been curious about the paint making process or about working with natural earth pigments, this event is for you!
We’ll be exploring the simple process of hand mulling watercolour paints, and going through the process of grinding down some foraged colours. We’ll play around with several different soil, clay and botanical pigments (some foraged some not), and everyone will get a chance to make their own batch of paint.
In the end, everyone will take home a sample set of handcrafted watercolour paints made by the group. All pigments and supplies will be provided, but feel free to bring a journal if you’d like to take notes as we go.
When: Sunday April 6th, 2pm - 4:30pm
Where: 4495 Happy Valley Road, at the Metchosin Arts and Cultural Center
This class will run approximately until 4:30pm. If we cover everything early we can use the rest of the time for extra questions and for painting with the colours we’ve all made!
